Attention all Modern Workplace Engineers! We have an incredible opportunity for you to join our growing IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, delivering, and enhancing our Digital/Modern Workplace ecosystem.

As a key player in our team, you will work closely with colleagues across the business to understand day-to-day operational processes and align them with the development of the Digital Workplace. You will also collaborate with technology partners to identify new and emerging technologies that will support and enhance business transformation by enabling new capabilities and working practices through technology.

The position is based at Junction 41 in Wakefield, just off the M1, with free parking, and offers a flexible, hybrid way of working. However, all colleagues are required to work in the office for a minimum of 1 to 2 days per week, with the expectation of added attendance when needed.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop a clear roadmap for Modern/Digital workplace that is based on the needs of the business and agreed with stakeholders. 
  • Consult with the wider business to assess and understand current and future Modern/Digital Workplace requirements and develop a vision to drive informed and dynamic investment prioritisation decisions. 
  • Work closely with business to identify and document its Digital Workplace requirements. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation including designs, technical requirements, deployment procedures, and support articles that will enable and accelerate adoption of the Digital/Modern Workspace. 
  • Work with stakeholders to continually optimize the governance and decision-making processes within the Digital Workplace 
  • Develop support processes and service-level agreements for the Digital Workplace across the wider business, working closely with the Service Desk. 
  • Develop Champions across the wider business and empower those colleagues to promote the adoption of digital/modern workplace practises. 
  • Collaborates with business partners to determine the right Digital Workplace cost model and facilitates demand planning and management conversations. 
  • Coordinates with business, data, and Technology architects to align the Digital Workplace and other architectures. 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to demonstrate experience in technology service delivery, colleague engagement and a passion for innovation. 
  • Demonstrate experience of the Digital Workplace, collaborative working methodologies and an understanding of cloud Technologies.   
  • Experience of working in large corporate environment with large scale investment in change with substantial technology implications  
  • Ability to understand and assess complex and sometimes unfamiliar situations, visualise solutions and see through to resolution. 
  • Ability to build and leverage working relationships across the various business areas, and engage colleagues and 3rd party to support delivery of suitable solutions. 
  • Ability to facilitate and present complex problems and recommendations to internal stakeholders to support decision making. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively at different levels within organisations and to influence successfully and openly at all levels – both inside our organisation and outside in the business
  • Shows a systematic, analytical approach to problem solving, a creative thinker, able to challenge, question and innovate with a good knowledge of data and functional analysis, tools, and techniques.
