Are you an experienced Project Manager with a passion for delivering strategic change at scale?

At cardfactory, we’re looking for a results-driven professional to join our Transformation Team, where you’ll lead complex, enterprise-wide programmes that shape the future of our business. From managing full project lifecycles—including planning, vendor engagement, budgeting, and risk management—to driving cross-functional collaboration and aligning technology with business goals, this role is central to our transformation journey.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in project and programme management, with a proven track record of delivering large-scale initiatives. They will demonstrate exceptional leadership, diplomacy, and the ability to influence and lead across all levels of business and technology teams.

We operate smart working principles at cardfactory, combining some days working from our support centre in Wakefield (min 2 days a week) with days working from home.

Main Responsibilities

  • Apply deep knowledge of project and programme management principles to help shape and mature delivery frameworks, tools, and best practices across the organisation.
  • Provide clear, consistent reporting on milestones, risks, dependencies, and deliverables to senior leadership.
  • Understand and manage interdependencies between technology, operations, and business functions.
  • Ensure solutions align with business goals and industry best practices through strong functional understanding.
  • Lead feasibility studies, vendor evaluations, and procurement processes, including defining Statements of Work and service specifications.
  • Support conflict resolution, negotiations, and vendor-related disputes when required.
  • Monitor and control project outcomes, resolving issues and managing critical path activities.
  • Define and communicate success criteria throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and delivery methods through ongoing professional development.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Extensive experience with SDLC methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • A creative and analytical problem-solver, committed to delivering high-quality outcomes through collaboration and innovation.
  • Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and presentation—with a confident, engaging style.
  • Highly self-motivated and adaptable, able to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in applying continuous improvement practices and benchmarking to enhance delivery performance.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • A track record of successfully delivering complex programmes on time and within budget.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse project teams, both internal and external, with accountability for performance.
  • Direct experience delivering at least three large-scale programmes (e.g. SAP, HR systems, network transformation).
