Job Introduction

Social Media Executive – cardfactory, Wakefield (Hybrid working – remote working + onsite)

Salary £29,000 - £32,000 depending on experience.

As Social Media Executive, you’ll play a key role in bringing cardfactory’s social media presence to life. You’ll help deliver our content strategy across platforms by creating fun, engaging and on-brand posts that speak to our customers. Based in the Digital Marketing team and working as part of a dedicated Social Media team of three, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across with Digital, Communications, Retail, Commercial, Creative and Brand teams. You’ll help grow our community, support campaigns, and showcase everything we have to offer to help our customers create memorable celebrations – from products and services to in-store experiences.

This is a dynamic, hands-on role ideal for someone who’s bursting with ideas, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and has a natural talent for creating engaging content. You’ll report to the Social Media & Digital Content Lead and work closely with the Social Media & Influencer Manager.

This is a hybrid role combining some days working from home and some at our head office based in Wakefield, with great links to the M1, M62 and free parking. Our team anchor day is Tuesday. You’ll be expected in the office every Tuesday. A driving licence would be advantageous as some travel between group sites may be required.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implements the social media strategy for cardfactory, inclusive of the brand, products, services, and channels to drive engagement across platforms.
  • Support the creative/content, planning and execution of all social campaigns (theme, messaging, identity) to deliver campaign impact to key customer personas.
  • Implement and manage the organic social media plan across all relevant platforms, driving brand awareness, engagement, and alignment with wider marketing objectives.
  • Create, develop and brief engaging, on-brand social content in collaboration with Creative Services, Digital Design and Communications teams, including copy, visuals, and video assets.
  • Produce and edit visual assets (reels, short-form videos, static graphics)
  • Manage day-to-day content scheduling and publishing across owned social channels such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and LinkedIn, ensuring consistency in tone and messaging.
  • Monitor and evaluate social media performance, using data, KPIs, and competitor insights to optimise content and channel strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including Brand Marketing, Communications, Trading, Commercial, and Customer Services to align messaging, support omnichannel goals, and manage community interactions.
  • Coordinate with third-party partners such as shopping centres and retail parks by supplying social assets and supporting new store openings across relevant channels.
  • Champion innovation and stay ahead of trends, leveraging platform updates, industry best practices, and new formats to continuously enhance the brand’s social presence.
  • Support the Social Media & Influencer Manager with ad-hoc duties across Paid Social, Influencer, UGC and Affiliate Marketing

The Ideal Candidate

  • The ideal candidate will know how to engage an audience on Facebook, TikTok and Instagram
  • Lives and breathes social media and has professional experience creating and scheduling content in platforms such as TikTok, Instagram and Facebook
  • Be a self-starter who can come up with unique ideas, shoot content and produce first class assets, along with in-app editing skills
  • Confident in front of the camera, with strong communication skills
  • Communicate with stakeholders to provide clear briefs, feedback and results
  • Experience creating and scheduling social media content
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Basic image or video editing skills (e.g. Canva, CapCut)
  • Experience working in a retail or customer-focused brand, desirable not essential
  • Confidence using tools like Meta Business Suite, TikTok for Business and social media scheduling tools
